Review of Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring C56107

Today we're going to review part number C56107. This is the CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4 Way Flat Trailer Connector for factory tow packages. This is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 2004 to 2007 Toyota Highlanders with the factory tow package and it even includes the hybrid models. On a custom fit part, I always recommend to go to our website, use our fit guide, put in your year, model, vehicle and it'll tell you if this will work for your application. This part does provide this 4 way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights and again, it's designed for use with the factory tow package.

It does connect very quickly and easily. No cutting or splicing of wires. Basically, you just locate your connection point which is in the rear cargo area of the vehicle, plug in this connector, put your fuse in there, and you'd be all ready to go. Now this part does include this taillight converter and this is to ensure that your vehicle's wiring will match that of your trailer. This converter itself is constructed using SMT Technology, surface mount technology. Gives you a consistent, reliable performance which maximizes your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat.

It also gives you superior operation in any rough road conditions. It also comes with this nice dust cap for the 4 way so basically you can put this on there and you can leave it on there if you'd like. What's nice is when you're not using the 4 way for storage, you can just put that cap on when your storing it and that protects those terminals from any damage or from the elements. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this. The maximum amperage for the stop and turn lights, there's 3 amps per side.

Maximum amperage for the taillights is 6 amps. It does comes with a nice set of detailed instructions that tell you how to install it and it even gives pictures of where the install points are. Basically what you want to do is go into the rear cargo area and go under your storage compartment and you'll locate the vehicle's trailer tow connector. This connector will match with this connector that's on this harness. Just plug that in.

What you'll want to do is the converter . What you'll want to do is that they include this nice piece of double-face tape that you can put on there and you can attach it to a nice flat surface so it doesn't get bounced around. Don't want to use the tape, you can actually use some these of extra cable ties to also adhere it down. Keep it from moving around. Once that's done, you'll go to the inline fuse holder. Pop it open. They include a 10 amp fuse. Pop it into the fuse holder. Push it in, put that in, and you should be ready to go. There's one last thing you want to check. On some vehicles, it may require that you put a 20 amp mini fuse in the towing position of the fuse panel for the system to function properly. Some vehicles might have it, some might not. What you want to do, the fuse panel is under your engine hood on the driver's side so you just want to look in there and make sure there's a 20 amp mini fuse in that towing position. That should do it for the review of part number C56107. The CURT T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4 Way Flat Trailer Connector for your factory tow package.
