Review of Curt Custom Fit Vehicle Wiring C55379

Today we're going to review part number C-55379. This is the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector. This part is a custom-fit part number. It is designed to fit the 1989 to 1995 Toyota pickup; also the 1995 1/2 to 2004 Toyota Tacoma. This is a custom-fit part number, and anytime it is a custom-fit part number I do like to recommend to go to our website and use our fit guide. Put in your year and model vehicle, and it will show you if this part will work for your application. This part number includes everything shown here on the table. This will provide a four-way flat trailer connector at the back of your vehicle to power your trailer's signal lights. It does connect quickly and easily; there's no cutting or splicing of the wires. Basically, you locate your connection points behind your tail lights on your vehicle, plug in these T-connectors to each side, and then ground this wire and you'll be ready to tow a trailer and supply the lights to the trailer. It does include this tail-light converter, which will help you ensure that your vehicle's wiring matches that of your trailer.

This is constructed using SMT technology, which is Surface Mount Technology. That will give you consistent, reliable performance, and it helps maximize your trailer light yield and intensity while producing minimal heat. It also ensures superior operation in rough-road condition. It also comes with this dust cap which is used for the four way. Basically, what you can do is just put this around the connector itself, and then when you're not plugged into the trailer you can put this dust cap right over the four way. That will protect it from any weather; it also protects it from getting any damage to the terminals there. The specs on this wiring harness: the maximum amperage for the stop-turn light circuit is three amps; the tail-light circuit is five amps per circuit. It does come with this nice set of instructions.

These instructions will have nice pictures to show you where your connection points are on your vehicle When you go to install this what you do is go to the back of the vehicle. You have to remove your tail lights, and at the back of the tail lights you'll have connection points that will match these T-connectors. You'll start on the driver's side, the one that has the yellow wire in it. This will attach to the tail lights behind the tail lights on the driver's side. Then you'll run this longer wire, with the green wire in it, over to the passenger's side. The same way, attach this behind the tail light on the passenger's side. Have this extra, white wire with the eyelet on it. What you want to do is connect this to a good, clean ground.

If you don't have one you can drill a hole and use the grounding screw they include. On the connector itself you want to secure this so it doesn't bounce around. They give you this double-faced tape you can attach to there; peel that off, put this on a nice, flat surface so it won't move around, and then they give you some extra zip ties to take up any extra wire that might be hanging down. You can use the zip ties to secure that. What you'll do is just run this length of wire out of the back of your vehicle, and that's where you'll plug in your four-way from your trailer to. That should do it for the review on part number C-55379, the Curt T-connector Vehicle Wiring Harness with the 4-pole Flat Trailer Connector. .
