Lube Plate for a Reese R16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch

Question:

on the installation instructions on the parts included with lube plate it says it has a R16 head pan included. what is the head pan? In the box I got only the Lube plate and the 6 screws and nuts were in it. Do I need the R16 head pan in the parts list? Thank you

Expert Reply:

Looking at the instructions for the Reese R16, # RP30866, it looks like they are calling the head assembly the head pan for some reason. The instructions for the lube plate, # 83003, is using the same terminology. The lube plate attaches to the head using the included hardware you mentioned. The lube plate is just the plate and the hardware so it sounds like you have everything.
