What Tire Size is Wider than 4.80–12 Tires that Comes w/a 5 Lug Rim?

Published 04/02/2026

Question:

Hi, I have a small utility trailer with 4.80–12 tires. They’re mounted on a five bolt rim. I use this trailer for around my property, picking up various sticks and things of that nature. I would like to go with a wider tire. At least two times is why it is what I have on here. Do you have anything already mounted on rims that I could swap these out with I just need two

Hey Paul. The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel item # AM3H430 is going to be the best option to get you the extra width you're looking for. This tire measures 20-1/2" in diameter and 8-1/2" wide. It'll be right at 3-1/2" wider so you'll have to make sure you have an additional 1-3/4" of clearance between the inner sidewall of your current tire and your trailer's frame.

The Kenda item # AM3H430 fits a 5 on 4-1/2" lug nut pattern which is extremely common on modern trailers. We also have the Kenda item # AM3H454 which fits a 5 on 5-1/2" lug pattern.

I highly recommend confirming what 5 lug pattern your hubs currently have.

What kind of ground are you driving on that has you looking at wider tires?
