Looking for Brake Assemblies for Trailer with 2 inch Diameter Axles

Updated 03/30/2026 | Published 03/23/2026

Question:

I have a trailer with a 3 diameter axle and 6 lugs. With that information could you identify the weight class. I want to purchase a new Morryde equalizer with bushing kit, backing plate with electric brakes, new shock absorbers. I am pretty much rebuilding the suspension on an older fifth wheel trailer. So if I need to get additional identifying information I understand. Thank You

Hey Michael, based on the info you listed you have either a 5,200 or 6,000 lb axle which either way both use the same parts. So for brake assemblies you would want the part # AKEBRK-7-SA for a set of self adjusting assemblies.

Now to pick out the correct cushioned MORryde equalizers I would need to know the distance between your axle centers. And do you know what type of shock setup your trailer has currently?

the axle spacing is 33" and once I have one of the shocks off we can talk about that. For now I want to work on the other parts of suspension and brakes.

@MichaelP For a cushioned equalizer setup from MORryde for a 33 inch wheelbase the Alltrek part # MR89DR would be what you'd want.
