Is it Recommended to Run Higher Load Range Trailer Tires When Available

Question:

I have 15 inch tires two axles , currently useing load range D would E be better.

If your current tires have enough capacity for your trailer then you wouldn't gain anything by going with a higher load rating. There is a common misconception that if you upgrade your tires to a higher load range you can carry more weight with your trailer, but that's only partially true. There are several other components on a trailer that give it it's overall capacity.

A towing setup is only as strong as it's weakest component. If that component happened to be the tires then upgrading them would give more towing capacity.
