I am searching for a complete lock mechanism with key for a 2012 Sears X Cargo Sport 20 roof cargo carrier. Third party manufacturer was Thule. Have you any leads?

Hi Dan!
I do indeed have a lead/option, but it isn't going to be an exact replacement. I'm not going to lie to you, there may need to be new holes drilled and the old locking mechanism will need to be removed. However, there isn't really any way around this as these cargo/roof boxes were discontinued quite a while ago and direct replacements have not been available for quite some time.
So with that said, what we have for your Sears X-Cargo Sport 20 is the Thule Replacement Lock Core and Key for SportRack Explorer Cargo Box - Qty 1 # SR03807. Yes, this says it's for a SportRack Explorer cargo box, but SportRack is another offshoot of Thule, just like the Sears boxes. We have had people use this lock with your specific box, so we know it does work. It's just going to take a little bit of work to do so.
What happened to the lock? Did it wear out or break?
