Trailer Brakes Lock Up When Camper Is Plugged into 7-Way Connector # 118267 on 2005 Pathfinder

I recently purchased a 7 way wiring harness to replace my 4 way harness for my 2005 Nissan Pathfinder because I purchased a camper with electric brakes. After installing the new harness things did not work correctly. The lights worked perfectly but the braking did not. The part # is 118267. I also purchased a brake controller from your site as well. That seems to be working fine. My problem with the braking is that when the camper is plugged in, the brakes are permanently on and there is no information getting to the brake controller when I step on the brake. It reads as if I dont have any trailer plugged in. Ive read some comments on here that it may be that the 2 pole black and blue wires may be wired backward. If this seems to be the case can you tell me if I can rewire the black and blue or should I just return the harness? If it is a simple rewiring, can you walk me through the process on how to rewire it? Thank you for your time.

I believe I know exactly what's happening. That 2 pin connector you speak of has its wires reversed. I've linked you to a help article that shows exactly how to fix the problem. You can remove the pins from the connector and swap them, or just cut the wires, swap them, and use butt connectors to reattach the wires. We've never been able to get an explanation about why some Nissans were mis-wired this way.
