Advise on Compact Car That Can Be Flat Towed

Question:

I need advise on purchasing a compact car that can be flat towed behind my Class C. I see so much conflicting information on the internet and then I see something being towed , I wish I could flag them down and pick their brain, Can anyone help and Ill be beholden to by all the correct equipment from you guys. Thanks,

Hi Thomas; we do not have a comprehensive list of compact cars that can be towed behind a motorhome. Also, there are so many factors it is difficult to try and narrow that down for someone. The best I can offer is the article attached below which lists some of the best vehicles for flat towing.

My advise is to pick out a few vehicles you think you would like to own and then check to see if flat towing is a possibility. This ensures the vehicle fits your particular needs and falls within your budget. You could also dolly tow or use a small trailer depending on the vehicle which would be about the same cost as the parts to flat tow.

@RobinH wow, made the decision about a year ago, found a 2011 Honda CR-V, confirmed with Honda ,it’s four wheel done towing capability and they confirmed that that was the last year for that model. Got it all set up with needed parts purchased from you. It’s been very successful and thank you for the follow up, Regards, Tom
