Troubleshooting an American Enterprises MCS6000 Converter That Keep Blowing Fuse

Question:

The two 30Amp fuses keep blowing on my American Enterprises MCS6000 converter.

Hey Kenneth, it sounds like what's happening is either a short or if the load the converter is handling is larger than what the fuse is rated for.

I'd suggest starting with the short since that'll be the easiest to find and the most obvious (most of the time). You'll want to look for any broken or frayed wires, wires that are touching, or a ground that is loose or damaged.

If that's all good, I'd suggest moving on to the load and making sure that it's not too much for the converter.

No luck. Which converter would you recommend to replace the American Enterprise M#CS6000?

@KenB Ken, I suggest going with the Progressive Dynamics 4500 Series RV Converter w/ Charge Wizard and AC/DC Distribution Panel # PD4560K18LS8 which has a 60 amp output and fits a 13-1/4" tall x 10-1/8" long rear cutout.
