Question:
I have a 12x8 trailer. I know the bearings need to be repacked, but Im thinking of just putting in some new bearings because of the age of the trailer. How do I tell which bearings Ill need?

Hey Thor,
Replacing the bearings instead of repacking them is definitely easier. To find out which ones you need you can either check them to see if the part numbers are still stamped onto them or you can measure the spindle if they've faded away.
With a caliper # PTW80157 you'll measure points B, C, and D from the diagram below to get the inner diameters. For the outer diameter you'll just measure the bore hole of the hub. Once we have the measurements I can see which bearings match up.
Let me know what you find and I'd be happy to figure out which ones are the right fit.

Hey Thor, were you able to take those spindle measurements with the caliper? Once you had them, did you find the right bearings for your trailer? Your update could make it easier for others doing the same replacement.
