I spoke with my contact at Blue Ox and the older version of the Aventa tow bar is compatible with the base plates, # BX3332 for your 2013 Chevy Captiva Sport.
In addition to the tow bar and base plates, you will also need safety cables if you do not already have some, lighting, and supplemental braking. For safety cables you can use # BX88197. The coiled design helps keep the cables off of the ground.
For lighting if you will not be towing the Captiva Sport very often I recommend a simple magnetic light kit, # RM-2120. Fora more permanent solution you can use the 6-diode kit, # 154-792-118158. For either lighting solution you will also need a couple of accessories.
It looks like you will need to pull a fuse to flat tow your Captiva Sport, consult the owners manual to confirm. To make this process as easy as flipping a switch you can use fuse bypass # RM76511. I have linked a video showing an installation that you can use as a guide.
To keep a maintenance charge on the battery I recommend using a harness such as # BX88206 with the tow bar wiring you will be using so that you can run a wire from the connector at the front of the truck to the vehicle battery.
There are a couple of ways to do this. First, you can tap into the running light circuit in the tow bar wiring but to provide power to the battery the RV running lights would have to be on all the time. Or if the connector at the back of the RV has a working 12 volt circuit you could use that circuit instead.
Which ever way you choose you would just attach the wire to the appropriate corresponding pin at the back of the connector that will be at the front of the truck and the other end of that wire will go to the positive battery terminal.
And finally, most states now require supplemental braking on the vehicle being flat towed. One of the easiest systems to set up and use is the Patriot proportional system # BLU37TR. It will apply the Captiva brakes in proportion to how much the tow vehicle is braking. This is the easiest way to stop and it reduces wear and tear on both vehicles.
Be sure to consult your Captiva owners manual for specific information on flat towing the truck. I have also included some helpful links to our series of help articles on flat towing for you.
