Does Converting 3,500 lb Axle to Drum Brakes Reduce Clearance

Question:
I have a 3500 Dexter torsion axle with idler hubs that I would like to convert to electric brakes. My question is whether the hubs change the overall track width of the trailer. I have very little clearance between my tire and the trailer, so I dont want the new hubs to move the tire inward. Right now, it is 3.25 inches from the axle mounting plate to the hub face. Would that remain the same with the new drums?

Hey Ty, so you wouldn't lose any clearance when going from a 3,500 lb idler hub to a drum brake setup like the part # AKHD-655-35-K so you'll be okay to do this. You will need brake assemblies as well with the part # AKEBRK-35-SA and you'd be set.
The tire track would be exact same from left to right as well.
