Bike Rack Recommendation for a 2002 VW Passat Wagon V6 with 4Motion to Carry 3 Bikes

Hi, Your email thread seems pretty clear but just to be sure... - There IS a class one rack available but it is limited to 2 bikes - There is no way to use a hitch mounted rack with this vehicle that will carry more than 2 bikes. If this is true, are there any 3 or 4 bike racks that are back mounted? Thanks for the help. Cheers,

You are correct, the Curt Trailer Hitch part # C11076 that you referenced is a Class I hitch that can only carry up to 2 bikes on a bike rack. For example you could use a Thule Hitching Post part # TH934XTR with this hitch but you would be limited to only carrying two bikes.

However, there is a trunk mounted option for your 2002 Volkswagen Passat that would let you carry up to 3 bikes. The Thule Raceway 3 Bike Rack # TH9002PRO would be an excellent choice that would let you carry up to 3 bikes on your vehicle. I attached a review video for this rack for you to check out also.

If you plan on carrying any womens or alternative framed bikes without horizontal top tubes you may also be interested in purchasing a Thule Bike Adapter Bar # TH982XT to provide a horizontal top tube on your bikes to provide an attachment point. I attached a review video for this product also. This will allow the bikes to be carried more level and will provide more ground clearance.
