Question:
Question on trailer brakes. My car trailer was a home built 40 or so years ago, I dont have brakes, I want to install some, but no idea where to start, I can take pics or measurements if can help identify?

If your car trailer was built on mobile home axles you are going to have to replace the axles as there aren't braking components that will be made to fit them. You will need to measure the distance between your spring centers, distance from hub face to hub face, and the axle capacity you need.

unknown axle, but the 4 bolt flange like you bolt backing plate to, was used to bolt a spindle to, using 1/2" spacers, so its the flange bolted to the flange? the spindle on it has 5 lug GM wheels I think? hope that makes sense?
