I want to purchase a new Winnebago Micro Minnie travel trailer which has a 7-point plug. I understand the trailer has its own brakes. My Nissan Pathfinder was a Tow Package but is wired with a 4-point plug. How should I go about switching out the plug so that the trailer brakes will work in conjunction with the Pathfinder?

Hi Alvin,
You'll need to disconnect the 4-pole trailer connector that you have installed and replace it with the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 7-Way Trailer Connector # 118266. This kit includes everything you'll need for a functioning 7-way, including some relays that you'll need to install in order to get power to the 7-way. It won't come with a mounting bracket so I recommend picking up the no-drill bracket # 18136 and mounting it to the trailer hitch.
From there you'll need to install a brake controller like the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty # RED24FR to be able to activate the brakes on the trailer. To connect the brake controller into the wiring of your Pathfinder you'll also need the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness # RED39FR.
