What is Needed to Use B&W Companion Hitch For 2018 Chevy Silverado to 2024 Silverado w/ Puck System

Question:

I have BandW 5th wheel hitch from my 2018 Chevrolet 3500 long bed pickup, that was installed to the factory puck system. I am purchasing a new Chevy pickup long bed, and understand that the puck system isnt the same as it was on the 2018. Is there a conversion kit or some parts that I can purchase to make it work? Thank you.

Hi Carey; good question and you're right, Chevy changed the layout of the puck system after the 2019 model year. You can convert your old Companion to fit your 2024 Chevy Silverado 3500 though, and all you need to do is replace the base of the hitch. You can choose from either the 20,000 lb or 25,000 lb capacity base:

- 25,000 lb Capacity: Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC # BWRVB3715

- 20,000 lb Capacity: Replacement Base for B&W Companion OEM 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch for Chevy/GMC # BWRVB3710

This base will fit the puck system of your new Silverado and you can use the head unit from your Companion and you'll be set.
