Question:
Can I add a solar panel to my breakaway battery to keep it charged? I’m imagining something like the setup on a deer feeder.

Yes, you can use a solar charger to help keep your breakaway battery topped off. The part # PTW2997 is a great option for this as it's a 2.5 watt charger that's pretty small and inexpensive which will work great on the smaller breakaway batteries.
