Updated 10/02/2023 | Published 10/01/2023 >
Question:
I have a 2002 performance boat trailer and having issues with only one tire that is wearing half of the tire and the other half has good tread left on it. The bearings are good all tires have 50psi just as the tires say on them. What could be the solution to fix this? The tire size is 175/80/r13

Expert Reply:
It appears you will most likely either have a damaged spindle or a bent axle if only the one tire is wearing and the bearings are all okay. You will want to take your trailer to a nearby trailer facility which specializes in axles so they will be able to determine what exactly is wrong with your trailer.
These issues tend to occur if you hit a large pot hole and can even happen if the weight of the trailer is lifted by a jack placed under the axle.
