The Ventline Replacement Dome Assembly for Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent, part # BVD0449-A01, includes half of the hinge mechanism. The dome and this portion of the hinge are molded together as one piece.
If the dome assembly and its hinge, and also the mating portion that is mounted on your trailer roof flange, are both still intact, you should be able to re-attach the dome. The procedure to re-install the dome assembly is as follows:
1) Remove the garnish trim, operator handle and screen frame.
2) Remove and save the two screws that hold the operator arm to the center bar.
3) Remove the operator from the center bar and dome.
4) Re-attach dome on hinge and replace spring clip.
5) Reverse steps 3, 2 and 1 in that order.
My contact at Ventline advised that if the dome came off as a result of wind turbulence from driving with the vent open that it is possible that the vent base flange (on the trailer) may be damaged and require replacement, but if not then you should be able to re-attach the dome.
