Question:
Not sure how the sw cuts down on the voltage? can they be controlled with a remote you know of? Some means of cutting on and off easily. Do you offer different colors that change color with a remote that install to 12v battery as well.

The switch # PK34571 referenced in the question you were looking at isn't going to drop the voltage down to 12v. Typically a battery fully charged will hit 14v and still be safe for 12v electronics.
The Optronics Flexible LED Light Strip # UCL90BCB is going to work until the battery is drained down to 11v. This particular LED light strip doesn't come with a remote which is why a switch would be necessary to turn it off and on and will only display a blue light.
If you're wanting a light strip that can change colors and comes with a remote to control it then I recommend the LED Light Strip Kit with Wireless IR Remote # DG52688 instead.
