5th Wheel Hitch and Installation Kit for a 2013 Ram 3500

Question:

Hello, I want the PullRite automatic slider so I took my truck to the dodge dealer to have the Dodge picture Frame installed. My 3500 did not come with the 5th wheel package / PUCS from the factory. Well the dodge dealer said that there is no way and or no solution for me. I look under neath and I have brackets on my frame. I just cant believe Dodge does not have these PUCS as an accessory. Have any ideas? Thanks

I have a solution that will allow you to pull a fifth wheel trailer with your 2013 Ram 3500, however, it appears that Pullrite does not have an installation kit that will fit the 2013 Ram 3500 for the SuperGlide hitch at this time. There has been quite a controversy over the 2013 Ram OEM fifth wheel packages because it was released before there were any compatible fifth wheel hitches or adapters available. Dodge also changed the design of the 2013 Ram trucks which required changes to aftermarket fifth wheel installation kits from the 2012 models.

If Dodge is able to remove the OEM brackets, I recommend installing the Curt Fifth Wheel Installation Kit, # C16426-204. This kit will fit short or long bed models and it includes the industry standard base rails that works with most Curt, Draw-Tite, Husky, Reese and Valley fifth wheel hitches. This is a custom installation kit that does not require any drilling into the trucks frame to install.

Curt also offers a number of hitches that will work for you. The decision of a hitch will depend on the length of your truck bed and the weight of your trailer. If you have a short bed truck, I recommend using a sliding fifth wheel hitch like part # C16516. Short bed trucks do not offer enough clearance for sharp turning situations and a sliding hitch will provide 12 inches of additional clearance to safely make sharp turns. If you have a long bed truck, then a fixed fifth wheel hitch like part # C16115, will work great.

Both of the fifth wheel hitches that I referenced have a 16,000 lb weight capacity. If your trailer weighs more than 16,000 lbs, then Curt also offers a 20K Sliding Hitch, # C16536, and a 20K Fixed Hitch, # C16130, which is the hitch you initially referenced.

I have attached the installation instructions for the install kit and the fifth wheel hitches that I referenced for you to check out.
