Is Using Rhino Rack T-Load in Front Hitch Illegal
Question:
Could you comment on the leagality of having a goal postinch rack on the front bumper of a truck? I am looking to use it to transport a tandem kayak that is about 13foot long. They will be mounted on the roof starting at the back of the cab and extend over the hood to the front bumper.

Expert Reply:
That we are aware of there are no laws against use of a goal post style rack like the Rhino Rack T-Load part # RTL002 installed in a front hitch to carry kayaks like you mentioned. This type of setup is used fairly often and we have not seen anyone mention getting into any type of trouble for it.
You might check in the area you will be travelling if there are any specific laws about it as not every state/area has the same rules and regulations.
