Question:
I use my 2010 Chevy Express 1500 for towing our small single axle camp trailer. Im looking to improve the ride quality and keep the van level when Im towing our camp trailer. I have looked at the various products and questions on etrailer.com but Im failing to see anything that addresses towing with a 1500 Express van. What do the experts recommend adding a jounce-style springs or a leaf spring enhancement spring? What is the difference in ride quality with each type mentioned above?

While both the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs # SSR-204-40 and SuperSprings Suspension Stabilizer and Sway Control Kit # SSA14MTKT will provide additional stability to your rear suspension on your 2010 Chevy Express 1500 while towing your camp trailer. I recommend using a weight distribution hitch like the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37060ET with your trailer. This will help to level your suspension by distributing the weight more evenly across your vehicle. It will also give your trailer sway control so it tracks straight behind your Express. This particular hitch comes with a 2" hitch ball and is for trailers with a tongue weight of 200-600lbs and maximum trailer weight of 6,000lbs.
The SumoSprings will give you the best increased ride quality when you are not towing and they work well with the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch. These springs are progressive so with no additional weight they will not be as intrusive as other suspension systems that are mainly designed for supporting additional heavy loads.
