Correcting Sway in a V-Nose Trailer

Question:

I have a 2020 GMC 1500 AT4. It tends to wiggle a little while towing and Id like it not to. The trailer is an enclosed snowmoblie 7wx21L +5V duel axel with brakes. It doesnt have an A frame tounge straight beam I was thinking about adding the sumo springs to help with this. Im not quite sure if they will work with the AT4 factory 2inch lift or not.

The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs item # SS65FR you were looking at will fit your 2020 GMC Sierra 1500 and they are compatible with the factory 2" lift. I recommend going with a weight distribution system for your snowmobile trailer to control the sway you are experiencing. You're going to need a different bracket due to the V-Nose of your trailer. You will need to use the Reese Chain Hangers item # RP58305. These brackets can either be bolted onto or welded to the exterior of your trailer's frame and are compatible with any chain hanger style weight distribution system. This kit attaches to the side of the frame so you don't have to worry about not having clearance for the normal hanger brackets.

For your weight distribution system, I recommend the Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank item # RP66542. It has a 1,200 lbs tongue weight capacity and a maximum towing weight of 12,000 lbs which will work great with your enclosed snowmoblie 7wx21L +5V trailer's gross weight of 7,000 lbs. This system will evenly distribute the weight of your trailer for stability and control.

You will also need a 2" Hitch Ball - 1-1/4" Diameter x 2-5/8" Long Shank item # A-90.
