Quietest Weight Distribution System

Question:

I plan to tow a 2900lb GVWR trailer and you have recommend this unit, RP65509. I am concerned about the noise that apparently comes with using this WD system, especially when turning. What can you tell me about that?

The Reese Weight Distribution System w Shank - Round Bar - 10,000 lbs GTW, 600 lbs TW item # RP65509 works by applying leverage to either side of your setup. This transfers the load at the rear of the vehicle to all axles on your tow vehicle and trailer. This is done by creating tensions in the bars attached to your trailer frame. In order for the system to work properly there has to be tension on the bars and the chains as tight as possible. The metal on metal set up of a weight distribution system is going to make some noise. The chain hangers on the Reese item # RP65509 are significantly quieter than systems using L brackets to hold the spring arms. When you turn you're putting more tension on the bars which will make more noise than just driving straight down the road.

I have linked a faq that will help explain more about the function and usage of weight distribution systems.
