Question:

Hi, I have a 2022 GMC Acadia that I need to set up with a 7 way trailer plug and a brake controller. I would prefer for this to be an easy install, so I was hoping the Tekonsha 118276 will fit my car. It did not come with the factory towing package though. Is this still an option? I need to get a brake controller for my trailer as well. Hoping for quick and easy on that as well.

To start with, the Tekonsha # 118276 will definitely fit your 2022 GMC Acadia even with it not having the factory towing package. There is a cluster of wiring under/behind your rear bumper that this will plug right into, making the install quick and easy. I included an install video as well as a picture of where this will be located that will help. Using the Mounting Bracket # PK12711U and No-Drill Mount # 18140 will make attaching this to your hitch significantly quicker and easier as well.

Once this is installed, the Curt Echo Brake Controller # C51180 will plug right into the 7 Way and now you have a brake controller. You will need to download the app to set it up and control it, but it is really that easy. The only add on I recommend with this controller is the Manual Override Button # C83HR. This allows you to apply the manual override without having to rely on the app. It is definitely a nice thing to have.
