Recommended Flat Towing Equipment For A 2020 Jeep Wrangler With A Smittybilt Atlas Front Bumper

What items do I need to flat tow my 2022 Jeep wrangler. I replaced the bumper with a Smittybilt Atlas front bumper.

To flat tow your 2021 Jeep Wrangler you will need a tow bar, base plate, tow bar wiring kit, braking system, and safety cables. I have the following recommendations for you below:

Tow Bar: Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain, Non-Binding Tow Bar # RM-522. This tow bar features non-binding latches and a large hookup radius to make connecting/disconnecting to your vehicle easy peasy on any terrain.

Base Plate: Since you have a Smittybilt Atlas front bumper you will need either the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars - 1" Thick # RM-035-1 or the Adapter for Jeep D-Ring Bumper Mounts to Roadmaster Motor Home Mount Tow Bars - 3/4" Thick # RM-035 depending on the thickness of your bumper's D-Ring mounts.

Tow Bar Wiring Kit: Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit # RM-152. This diode kit allows you to use your vehicle's tail lights and wiring system while preventing feedback from your RV.

If you have ParkSense Proximity Sensors then you will need the Roadmaster Wiring Kit with Smart Diodes for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights # RM47ZR instead.

Braking System: Brake Buddy Stealth Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39530. The Brake Buddy Stealth offers fully proportional braking with a system that never has to be removed, replaced, or reset. Actuator installs out of sight and remains virtually invisible when your car isn't being towed. Controller also works as a trailer brake controller allowing you to tow a trailer without having to purchase and install a separate brake controller. This system also comes with a charge line kit to keep your vehicle's battery charged while you tow. It also comes with a 7-way flat connector that offers simple hookup and a clean look so you won't have to purchase that separately either.

Safety Cables: RoadMaster 68" Single Hook, Coiled Safety Cables - 6,000lbs # RM-643. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.

You may also need a high low adapter to keep your tow bar level between your vehicle and motorhome. This will require you to do some measuring so I've attached our help article to guide you through determining the correct rise/drop.
