Redarc Brake Controller for 2014 Pathfinder
Question:
This was my question: I bought Tow Pro Liberty brake controller and TPH-014 harness. My Pathfinder 2014, has CAN BUS system and the connector for the trailer so with this harness I can connect the controller to my car. Do I need to buy and install CBK30-EB 30A circuit breaker or this one is already factory installed on my car? Expert Michael Reply: Yes, per the installation instructions, your 2014 Nissan Pathfinder with the Controller Area Network, or CAN Bus system, it is recommended by the manufacturer that you use the 30-amp circuit breaker kit # 331-CBK30-EB. This, along with your Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller, # RED24FR and the Plug-and-Play Wiring Harness for Redarc Tow-Pro Trailer Brake Controllers, # RED39FR TPH-014 will have you all set. As long as your Pathfinder has the factory 7-way already. However, to add a 7-way to your Pathfinder, if needed, then you can do so easily with the Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way Trailer Connector, # C56357. Thank you Michael, My Pathfinder has the factory 7-way trailer connector. If I understand, to install 30-amp circuit breaker, I have to cut and remove the black wire from the harness #RED39FR-TPH-014 from white connector and connect it directly to the battery by the 30-amp breaker. Please see the picture and let me know if this will be ok! Thank you for your answer!

Yes, the diagram is correct. Please also note the attached "official version" from installation instructions. Only the black wire needs to be pulled from the TPH-014 and run to the battery with the breaker fit inline. The remaining wires within the TPH-014 can be left in place and the Tow-Pro harness plugged into the vehicle trailer brake connector. I verified this with the Redarc too just to ensure.
