Since only one function is not working it doesn't sound like it is the converter box. Although there could be a problem with the connectors, there should be no real loss of conductivity over time. It is possible that the # C56329 needs to be replaced, but there are a few things you can check first before going that route.

The first thing I would do is double check the connectors. If the connector is not fully seated and came apart over time it could explain why it went out intermittently and eventually stopped working all together. All you need to do is unplug it and plug it back in to make sure it has a good connection.

Another thing I would check is the fuse. Make sure it is not blown, and replace it if it is. After checking the fuse, I would check the ground connection. Make sure it is secure on a clean, bare-metal surface. If everything checks out I would go ahead and test the wiring.

Using a circuit tester like the # PTW2993, check the 4-way at the back of your vehicle. If you find that the turn signal is working, the problem is on your trailer. If the turn signal is not working at the 4-way on the vehicle side, you will want to look for a short in the wiring.

If none of these steps solve the problem it is likely you need to replace your wiring harness. I recommend the Tekonsha T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118551 for a replacement. We have found that Tekonsha is the most reliable.
