Available Front Mount Trailer Hitch Options for a 2000 Ford Excursion  

I tried to get info from Curt, but after 3 weeks of waiting I have decided to ask you folks to see if you can answer my question! My son has a 2000 Ford F-250 with a diesel and some after market ad- ons and the front hitch #31014 is the hitch it calls for, but because of some of the additional ad-ons this hitch will not work on it without removing some of these items, so it wasnt installed! I have a 2000 Ford Excursion with a diesel and I would like to know without / before removing too much of the bumper assembly if you can tell me if this same hitch 31014 will work on this Excursion as the front of the frame seem to be very similar and YES, I know that Curt makes a hitch #31114 for the Excursion that mounts via those front mounting pads facing front!! But I thought I would be willing to make some adjustments and / or even make some parts if necessary to use what I have instead making a purchase of another new front hitch! Thank you, in advance
