Hi, I cant seem to figure out how the fan is powered? Solar-powered, battery, or does it need to hook up to an outlet?

You will need a 12 volt power supply from a battery in order to install the MaxxAir vent you asked about, which is the following part number:

- MaxxAir Mini Deluxe Trailer Roof Vent with 12V Fan # MA00-03851

This vent is a simple 2-wire design with a white ground wire and black power wire that connects to your RV's 12V power supply. It does come with the mounting screws so the only other thing you will need is sealant, the TremPro 644 Silicone Sealant # 0160297.
