Two questions thanks 1. what is the o-ring for on the horizontal shaft 2. Where can I find a replacement one thanks

You're needing a replacement O-ring for the bearing shaft. The bad news is that Curt doesn't offer that as a replacement part. The good news is that it's a pretty standard 31.5mm O-ring that you should be able to find at a hardware or auto parts store.
