Question:
Hello, I want to replace me Dometic gas/electric refrigerator with a 12V Furrion unit - FR32SR. It currently has 110V wires and 12V wires feeding into the control panel in the lower rear. My RV is mainly powered to a 110V power source most of the time. If I purchase the 12v Furrion unit does it run off 12v all the time or is there a switch in the refrigerator that I switch from ac to dc power. If it is powered by 12v 100 of the time, how does the battery stay charged? Thanks,

The Furrion Arctic RV Refrigerator with Freezer - Stainless Steel - 10 Cu Ft - 12 Volt Item # FR92SR is not able to accept a direct connection to an AC power source as it was designed for DC power input only. You will want to ensure you have the proper gauge wire to ensure you're getting enough amperage for the distance between the battery and the fridge. I've attached a guide to help you with determining what size wire you'll need.
When hooked up to shore power the battery can be charged using a converter/charger like the Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Smart Battery Charger - 12V - 60 Amps Item # PD9260C. Note: this charger is not meant for lithium batteries. If you have lithium batteries you'll need a converter/charger like the Progressive Dynamics Inteli-Power RV Converter and Battery Charger - Lithium - 12V - 30 Amps Item # PD9130LV.
If you're wanting to charge your battery while driving you can use a DC/DC charger like the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Single Input - DC to DC - 12V/24V - 12 Amp Item # RED96FR.
