Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Brake Controller Not Connecting to Trailer

I have 2017 Nissan Titan Pro-4X non-XD which uses a Prodigy P2 TBC from what the owners manual says. I get the two illuminated dots on the TBC, but have never had the Cinch showing connected from any trailer Ive hooked-up. Trailer lights work fine, but the TBC never shows a Cinch and says ncinch when youre hooked up and pull the manual lever. I took the truck to the dealership to have them check and they say that the TBC has power and should work... they have no other test they can run to diagnose, but blame the issue on the 7 or so different make/model trailers I have used - most recently my brand new 2021 boat and matching trailer. Seems ridiculous to me. I dont know how else to diagnose, but need my TBC to work desperately.

This sounds like the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 Trailer Brake Controller # 90885 output wire is not making the connection to the trailer on your 2017 Nissan Titan. I would check that the ends of the Pigtail # 3050-P on your brake controller have not pushed out of their connections. You can do this visually but the best way is to follow the wire with a Test Light # PTW2992.

When you apply your brakes the blue wire in the pigtail should receive power. You can use the test light to follow the wire to the OEM connection and make sure there is power going through when the brake is applied. You can also use this at the 7-way connection on the back of the truck. The brake control wire is the one located at the 5'oclock position(see image). If you have power out of the brake controller in the OEM harness but not at the 7-way you can determine that the wiring in the truck is the issue. You can follow some of wiring to determine if there is a break in the wiring or a bad connection at a connector.
