I just bought a new 2012 super duty long bed that has the 5th wheel and gooseneck prep kit already installed. What hitch do I need to buy to fit this prep kit? Also is it required to get the above the bed rails with this kit?

After speaking with my source at Reese, I have found the Reese Pro Series Fifth Wheel # PS30093 will work for your 2012 Ford F-250 with an existing gooseneck prep kit. The hitch you referenced would require the Reese Elite Series Underbed Rail Adapter # RP30156 for installation, but is still a very economical way to go. I have included links to the installation instructions for the adapter kit and a video review of the hitch.
If you would prefer a fifth wheel that requires no adapter, I recommend the Reese Elite Series # RP30142. It has a weight capacity of 18,000 lbs with a vertical load limit of 4500 lbs and features a 4-way pivoting head and self-latching jaw. It arrives fully assembled and comes with a 7-year limited warranty. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this item.
If you need a fifth wheel with a higher weight capacity, you might be interested in the # RP30143, a product with a 25,000 lb weight capacity and a 6250 lb vertical load limit. I have included a link to the installation instructions for this hitch as well.
