A Weigh Safe # WS6-3 is not designed to perform the same function of a weight distribution hitch, and they are not compatible with weight distribution hitches. If there are concerns with tongue weight of your trailer you'll want to use the Weigh Safe to take the tongue weight measurement before each trip to ensure that your trailer is properly loaded. Once that task is complete you'll need to jack the trailer back up, remove the Weigh Safe, connect your weight distribution hitch and proceed normally, since they're not compatible.

If your trailer is handling fine without the weight distribution hitch and there is no squat on the vehicle or sway events with the trailer you may be able to do without it, but as I mentioned, these types of parts are not compatible since a weight distribution hitch requires a weight distribution shank to connect to the head.
