Is the Fuse Bypass Still Needed On a 2012 Honda CR-V If Battery Charge Line Is Installed
Question:
Hello, Do I still need to remove fuses #7 and #8 in my 2012 Honda CR-V or to install Blue Ox BX88273 2-ATM Fuse Bypass Switch with 2 Circuits if I install road master charge line part # RM-156-25? I’m towing with 2007 Fleetwood providence diesel pusher, and i’m using Blue Ox BRK2019 Patriot 3 Brake System. I also installed Roadmaster Diode 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Wiring Kit in the towed car.

Expert Reply:
The Roadmaster FuseMaster Fuse Bypass Switch part # RM76512 is indeed needed for a 2012 Honda CR-V regardless of whether or not a battery charge line like the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Towed Vehicles part # RM-156-25 is used. The purpose of the fuse bypass is indeed to stop certain accessories from drawing power and draining the battery but that is not all, there are other purposes such as de-activating circuits which could cause damage to the vehicle if powered on while in tow mode
