Where Are The Connection Points for Curt T-Connector Harness on 2003 Dodge Ram W/ Factory 7-way
Question:
I was just under my truck with a flashlight and dont see the connection points. Only plug-ins are license plate lights and 7-pin plug-in. Taillight wiring goes up into taillights. Ive read all the questions and there seems to be confusion on plugging in at the tail light or plugging in behind the bumper. Is it likely my truck doesnt have the plug in behind the bumper? Im excited to soon have working lights on my boat trailer again! Thanks

From some research I did, I found that the reason that the connectors do not plug in behind the bumper of your 2003 Dodge Ram 1500 is due to it having the factory 7-way connector.
You will need remove the tail lights and install the connectors in-between the tail light and connector coming from the vehicle's harness. Make sure that you use the connector with the yellow wire on the driver side tail light, and the connector with the green wire on the passenger side tail light.
If you need to add a 7-way connector that will bypass your factory wiring you will need the etrailer Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat # ETBC7. I attached an installation video on a 2001 Dodge Ram for you to take a look at.
Another option is the Tekonsha Multi-Plug T-One Connector Assembly for 7-Way & 4 Pole Trailer Connector # 20135 that will replace your factory 7-Way connector and will give you a new 7-Way and 4-Way connector that is powered by your vehicles factory harness.
