Question:
I am a new RVer and am trying to decide on a fifth wheel hitch. The truck is a 2012 RAM 3500 diesel long bed, single rear wheels, crew cab. The RV is a 2008 Travel Supreme Classic 36foot rated GVWR 16,500. I prefer a mount that leaves me with a clean bed without rails sticking up when the hitch is removed. Your recommendations are appreciated.

For a 5th wheel trailer hitch that will fit in below the bed rails I recommend the Reese M5 Series hitch # RP30921. This hitch has an 20k capacity and fits in the below the bed rails which will leave the truck bed fully accessible just like you want. The installation kit is # RP30074. I have included some links to the installation instructions and a link to a video showing a typical installation.
This hitch also comes with an in-bed wiring harness. I have included an additional link that you should find helpful. It is some basic information on 5th wheel trailers and towing.
