Matching Hubs and Electric Parking Brakes for an Axle-Less Suspension Kit with Tacoma Bolt Pattern
Question:
Im looking to purchase a timbren axleless suspension to install on my 1966 M416 military trailer. My goal is to convert the trailer to an overlanding trailer. I have been looking at ASR35HDS02. But I need to find the hub that matches my Tacomas bolt pattern. I would also like to have brakes either parking or parking and electric. Can you please recommend the parts that Im needing? Also does ASR35HDS02 come with the 2x3 steel reinforcement tubing?

The Timbren Axle-Less Trailer Suspension, part # ASR35HDS02, is a great choice for your trailer.
For your hubs, that suspension set is designed to work with Dexter Trailer Hubs and Drums # 8-201-9UC3-EZ. These hubs have a 3000-pound weight capacity on their own and fit a 12" x 2" brake assembly. I've linked to a video review of this assembly for you to look at.
These hubs' bolt pattern is 6 on 5-1/2", which luckily enough, is the standard for Toyota Tacomas. Of course, I cannot 100% confirm this is what your specific vehicle's bolt pattern is, so you need to measure yours just to be safe. I've linked to an article that can help you with determining this.
For the electric parking brakes, you need ones that fit the 12" on 2" hubs, so I recommend the Dexter Electric Trailer Kit, part # 23-112-113. This kit does include the manual parking brake levers and fit 14-1/2", 15", and 16" wheels. I've linked to a video review of these brakes as well.
To use your electric brakes, you need a brake controller. I recommend the Tekonsha P3, part # 90195. It's one of our most popular brake controllers that offers a lot of customization. I've linked to a video installation of this controller on a 2009 Tacoma. You also need a wiring adapter for this, but that depends on your vehicle's specific year to determine what is the right fit.
To answer your final question, the Timbren Axle-Less does not come with the 2 x 3 tubing, so that will need to be bought separately. You can get this locally.
