4-Bike Rack Recommendation for 1-1/4" Trailer Hitch

Question:

Hi, Im looking to purchase a hitch bicycle rack that will hold 4 bicycles. I have a 1 1/4 hitch. 1 mens adult 1 womens with a sloped crossbar 2 toddler bicycles. Can you please provide a recommendation? Thanks!

For your application I recommend going with the Thule Apex XT # TH9025XT. This can hold up to 4 bikes and has a max weight rating of 37.5 lbs per bike. I really like the 7" spacing between the cradles because it makes it a lot easier to load up to 4 bikes, but with your kid's bikes (and maybe the women's bike) you'll need to use an adapter bar like part # TH982XT so that they will fit properly.

Please note that if your 1-1/4" hitch is rated as a Class I then you can only safely carry 2 bikes. To carry 4 bikes you'll need to upgrade to a Class II or Class III hitch. If this is the case just let me know and I can make a recommendation for you.
