How Does the Thule Anti Rattle Bolt Work with my Thule Hitch Mounted Bike Rack

i am confused as to how to support the rack in the hitch. it rattles and sways a little. its a 2inch so i have the adapter. does a bolt go all the way thru the hitch, or does it go in one side and screw into the threads on the adapter, and not go thru the other side?

On your older Thule rack like the Parkway the Replacement Hardware Kit for Thule Parkway Bike Carriers part # 753-3550 does have the anti rattle bolt included. It is the shorter bolt in the kit that has the washer and lock washer. This is threaded in through the hitch pin hoe and tightened. This pulls that shank of the bike rack over snuggly against the hitch allowing for a drastically reduced amount of movement and sway.

You an also use the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock and Anti-Rattle Device part # THSTL2 this will give you a full pass through bolt with the ability to add the lock on the other side securing it.
