Question:
I am interested in purchasing a Thule Motion XT Large. However, it says on the Thule site that only the pulse is compatible with my vehicle, a 2016 GMC Acadia Denali with factory rails and cross bars. That doesnt seem right since Ive seen a few videos with the 2015 GMC Acadia, same body type. Is it necessary to buy Thule cross bars? If so, why if there is a clamping mechanism on this box that tightens to the click is heard? Appreciate any insight you can give.

The Thule Motion XT Rooftop Cargo Box part # TH629706 is not a fit for a 2016 GMC Acadia Denali with factory roof rack per Thule. That said, Thule does not list an exact reason why. However, I do have a very similar option in the Yakima SkyBox 18 Rooftop Cargo Box part # Y07336 which will work with the factory roof rack per Yakima therefore this is what I recommend. The Yakima SkyBox is just as nice as the Thule Motion XT with most of the same features.
