Question:
Hello. My question is regarding the tow hitch Part number c13171. I see most of the reviews comment about it hanging low, and mostly being used in conjunction with a bike rack. I’m trying to find a hitch that will allow me to tow a 4x8 closed trailer across 2700 miles. My vehicle is a 2017 Jeep Cherokee 2x4 2.4L 4-cylinder. In your expert opinion is that possible? Trying to avoid cutting fascia or professional installs to keep cost down. Thank you

The Curt Class III part # C13171 would work great for towing a small enclosed trailer, as long as its fully loaded weight is less than the 2000 lb towing capacity of your Cherokee. The hitch itself has a higher capacity, but you'll be limited by the capacity of the lowest rated component, which is the vehicle in this case. No fascia trimming is required and as you can see in the linked video, installation is pretty simple and straightforward.
You'll also need a trailer wiring harness like # 118605, a ballmount like # 40346 used in the rise position and a # 19260 for a 1-7/8 or # 63845 for a 2 inch trailer ball. A hitch pin like # PC3 will also be needed.
