Recommended Bike Rack and Stabilization Straps for Use on EcoHitch for 2017 Subaru WRX

With Thule and it seems many other bike rack manufacturers requiring 1.5inch pin hole depth on the receiver which bike racks will actually work for this? The 1.5inch seems to be an industry standard. From reading another QandA on here it seems that the pin hole depth for this receiver is only 1.125. What are my options? Id like a rack that doesnt touch the frame or forks. Thanks.

Bike racks are going to be the same, and it's the EcoHitch # 306-X7257 that is creating the issue. Since the EcoHitch is the only hitch available for your 2017 Subaru WRX that offers a 2" receiver, I can understand wanting to go with it over the others. If you're dead set on going with the EcoHitch, whichever bike rack you would choose I do recommend using some Curt stabilization straps # 18050 on your setup to help create some additional support when carrying a bike rack. This would be the best solution to make up for the 3/8" or so difference in the placement of the hitch pin hole on this rack and keep the rack from moving around too much on the back of the vehicle during travel.

Since it also sounds like you're looking for a bike rack, I recommend going with the Yakima HoldUp 2 # Y02443 which is a wheel mounting platform rack that is perfect for carbon frame bikes-which it sounds like you've got. This rack comes with locks for the bikes and the rack, so it's going to allow you to keep everything secure and it will work well in the 2" receiver on your new EcoHitch # 306-X7257.

I've linked a review video of the rack as well as an installation video of the hitch for you to have a look at.
