Can Ball Mount Be Flipped for Compatibility with Taller Trailer Coupler?
Updated 05/08/2020 | Published 05/07/2020 >
Question:
Good morning, I have a starter hitch Item # C45534 with a 2 inch . I ran into a situation where the item I wanted to tow was too high to contact the ball. Is it safe to rotate the hitch 180 degrees in the receiver so that it has a 2 inch rise? Thanks,

The Curt Towing Starter Kit for 2" Hitches - 2" Ball - 3/4" Rise, 2" Drop - 7.5K # C45534 as it comes is ready to be used in the 2 inch drop position. You can absolutely remove the hitch ball and flip the ball mount upside down and reinstall the hitch ball to get the 3/4 inch rise. If you need more of a rise than that to tow level, then you will want a different ball mount. If you will be towing many different trailers, then an adjustable ball mount may be a great option. I've linked the pages for you if you need a different fit and have also attached a help article to determine fit.
