The Landing Gear Set w/ Handle # RVLG-8HDL that you referenced is MOST LIKELY the correct set of landing gear for your 1996 Excel 5th wheel camper as this landing gear fit is the most common seen on RVs. I would actually be shocked if it didn't fit because of that. So what you'll need to do to verify is measure the dimensions of the welded mounting brackets on your camper and compare them to the picture I attached.
The sure way to tell is that if the distance between the mounting brackets (underside of top bracket to top of lower bracket as shown in the diagram) is 17-1/2 inches. If this is the case, the landing gear should fit just fine.
If your frame clamps are instead 20-1/4 inches the Ultra Fab part # UF17-943050 would be a direct replacement.
