Should Brake Controller Have Light on Display When Wired Up

Once you wire up a brake controller with a 7-way install kit like the part # ETBC7 and the controller is fully functional it should have a light on the display of the controller to show that it's powered on or "active." I don't know exactly what brake controller you have so it's harder to say for certain what your specific controller should be showing but in general they all have a light that comes on when they have power. The display also typically changes when a trailer is connected and also when it's sending power to the brakes.
I attached a help article on brake controllers for you to check out as well.
