How To Power the Blue Ox Patriot On a 2018 Ford Fiesta With Battery Disconnected

I have purchased the BX88206 electrical cord and patriot 3 brake system to tow my 2018 ford fiesta. However, the ford fiesta manual for towing states that i need to remove the negative battery terminal when towing. The problem is that the patriot 3 brake system requires a continuous 12 volt. supply to operate it. When i disconnect the negative battery terminal the 12 volt plug for the patriot brake system no longer has power to it. Im afraid that if i leave the battery connected it will go dead on long trips. Is the battery being charged through the BX88206 or is there something else I need to do here??

The solution for you to use the Blue Ox Patriot Portable Braking System on your 2018 Ford Fiesta is to add the 12 Volt Outlet Kit part # RM-9332. As you mentioned, the battery on your Fiesta must be disconnected which then means the 12 volt outlet you have now will not work therefore you have to hardwire a 12 volt plug to your battery using the above. If you don't already have a way to disconnect your battery easily we have the Roadmaster Automatic Battery Disconnect part # RM-766 for this purpose.
